Bryan becomes a partner!

On June 1st, 2004 Bryan was promoted to partner with Outback! We put the house on the market and moved to Goldsboro. It was a culture shock for me, the city girl who had lived in Raleigh her whole life!

Haley's first month

Haley was spoiled with hugs, kisses and lots of love and snuggles from family and friends! She could hold her head up well and was very alert to her surroundings.

Haley Rowe Harris

Nearly two weeks past her due date, Haley Rowe Harris made her arrival into the world at 2:14pm on April 5, 2004 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. I was scheduled to be induced on April 7th, but after a stress test and an ultrasound showed I had no fluid left, Haley was delivered by emergency c-section. Thankfully Bryan was with me and all four grandparents were at the hospital for this very special event. Haley was the first grandchild for both sides of the family! This was absolutely one of the happiest days of our lives! Haley weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces and had a full head of thick, black hair.

And two become three

In July of 2003 we found out that we were pregnant with Haley. I was now the math specialist at Reedy Creek Elementary in Cary. I was really sick for most of the pregnancy, but it was absolutely all worth it!

Our first home

In June of 2000 we bought our first home at 6205 Lost Acorn Way in Willow Springs. Bryan was now a Food Tech with Outback so he was traveling a lot and I was teaching at Smith Elementary. We loved our huge wooded yard with a hiking trail and creek behind the house and our neighbors Joey and Barbi. Lots of fun memories there!

I do

We were married on January 9, 1999 at St.Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Raleigh. Our reception was a huge party at the Holiday Inn with all of our friends and family. We went on a wonderful honeymoon cruise to Key West and the Bahamas and then came back to our first home together (well, apartment!) at Dunhill Trace Apartments on Glenwood Avenue. Bryan was a Kitchen Manager and I just got my first teaching job teaching 4th grade at Vandora Springs Elementary in Garner.

A birthday and an engagement

We were in Myrtle Beach on my 21st birthday for the wedding of some Outback friends. Bryan proposed to me on the beach! Of course I said yes!

Fun times!

Bryan and I dated for the rest of my junior and senior year of high school and all of college. Some of our favorite things to do were going out to yummy restaurants, hanging out with friends, playing with Sadie, hiking and camping and going to local concerts. We look sooooo young!

How our little family got started

Bryan and I met at Broughton High School. Yep, we were high school sweethearts! Well, not at first. After spending a year in homeroom together, I wasn't too fond of Bryan and the fact that he wouldn't participate in any of our homeroom parties. But in 1996 (his senior year, my junior year), he decided to make it up to me by suprising me with a Cinnabon after English class one day. I decided maybe he wasn't so bad after all and agreed to go to a local hockey game with him a week later. It turned out to be the best date I had ever been on - we laughed and talked for hours! I guess you can say, the rest is history...
